Overview
SK-38 Series Multi-tasking Swiss Turning Centers
The SK-38 series is a multi-tasking Swiss turning platform designed to handle larger diameters and complex geometries with strong process overlap. With up to 9-axis control, it supports simultaneous machining strategies that improve throughput in production environments.
A key differentiator is the high-rigidity gantry-type tool system structure, designed to bear torque load evenly and increase tool-system stiffness. This supports stable cutting conditions and predictable results when running demanding multi-operation cycles.
The platform combines a hybrid guide bush concept with two operating modes: guide-bush machining for stable support on slender parts, or bushless machining to reduce remnant length and improve bar utilization. SK-38 supports Ø38 mm machining diameter in bush mode, or Ø42 mm in bushless mode.
For complex features, the B-axis live tool holder enables 4-axis simultaneous contour milling, while the Y2 backworking tool holder expands flexibility for rear-end machining and overlapping processes. This helps complete more features in one setup, reducing handling and WIP.
Key Features – SK-38 Series
Hybrid Guide Bush
Run bush or bushless mode to balance support and bar utilization.
Gantry-Type Tool System
High-rigidity structure designed to distribute torque load evenly.
B-axis Contour Milling
B-axis holder supports 4-axis simultaneous contour milling operations.
Y2 Backworking Capability
Y2 backworking expands rear machining and enables process overlap.

Applications
General machining
Mixed prototype and production work across sizes; flexible envelopes and quick changeovers speed setups, reduce handling, and keep output consistent day to day.
Automotive
Tooling and production parts across the supply chain, from fixtures and dies to turned and milled components; repeatable referencing supports surface quality and tight tolerances.
Energy
Pump and valve components, compressor parts, and auxiliary housings; controlled cutting and chip/coolant management help protect tolerances, surface finish, and tool life.
Aeronautics
Precision structural parts, fixtures, and machined assemblies; probing and process control (where available) help keep flatness and bores in tolerance on long cycles.
Defense
Housings, carriers, and structural parts in high-strength alloys; stable machining conditions and verified datums deliver repeatable accuracy under heavy cuts.
